Delayed-Onset Muscle SorenessRecovery

The muscle soreness that peaks a day or two after unfamiliar exercise.

Delayed-Onset Muscle Soreness is the muscle pain and stiffness that appears 12–72 hours after unfamiliar or eccentric-heavy exercise, caused by microscopic muscle damage and inflammation. It typically resolves within a few days and is a normal part of adaptation, not injury. It can temporarily reduce strength and range of motion.
